One of the best known and loved sauropod dinosaurs, Diplodocus, lived154,152 million years ago in the Late Jurassic era. It inhabited the areanow known as Mid,Western North America. Its name means double,beamedreptile in reference to the double beamed chevron bones located in theunderside of the tail, which were then considered unique. Its extremely longtail is thought to have been used as a whiplash and defense against suchpredators such as Allosaurus and Ceratosaurus with whom it shared its world.Species of Diplodocus ranged in size from 27 to 33m in length. A verypopular model since its first issue, CollectA has now decided to produce anew colour scheme for its rearing diplodocus at the request of several fans.
